Stones Corner has a strong historic background with the Stone Family dating back to 1875. Originally known as Burnett Swamp, the area was re-named Stones Corner after James Stone purchased land and ran a successful shop on the corner of Logan Road and Old Cleveland Road in 1875. James Stone sold his land in 1887 where the new owner erected a two storey building which is currently known as the Stones Corner Hotel.
